Default Did I do OK?

I just picked up a Canon Rebel XSi DSLR camera with the packaged 18-55 lense. I also got an 8GB memory card and wired remote. I found it on Craigslist. It was new in December and was still packed in the factory box. I didn't even see any fingerprints on it! I got it for $550. This was an impulsive purchase and I'm not sure how I did. Either way all I can say is it is awesome so far. Even in point and shoot mode it far exceeds the Sony point and shoot I have. Now I need to find some deals on lenses. Wide Angle, telephoto etc. Oh and learn how to take advantage of it's capabilities. Let me know what you all think.

Thanks,

Sounds to me like you got a great deal. I bought the same camera new for about 800. I love that camera so much. The 18-55 kit lens is a little on the limiting side but with a better lens you got yourself a great camera. I recently found a canon 24-105L lens for an amzing price on ebay so i picked that up. Its been a night and day difference. Let me know if you need any help with the camera. PM if you do because i dont always jump on the forums.

The XSi is a good intro-DSLR. You'll like having fun with it.

Then it becomes an obsession to get better glass and then your screwed. Like me... Saving my pennies for fast lenses.

Just wait until you try L glass, you'll never buy a junk lenses again

I used to think my camera was all cool till Rupp had me hold his for a few at the Optima Challenge last year. His setup made mine look like a disposable. That thing was crazy cool!

I don't know. The lens was huge....it practically needed a tracked vehicle and a team of specialized Army Rangers to move and operate it.
