Default I appreciate this site...

First off let me be clear this is NOT to bash any other forums/sites or individuals. It is only to share why I appreciate this site.

Before I joined here I had been looking around the various on line communities and watching some builds, reading peoples replies to new peoples questions and such.
I was shocked at how rude some were to the new guys on other sites, how critical people were of others builds, and how advice given in a positive way was really lacking. It seems to me that some of the other sites were made for bragging rights and BS instead of helping each other and helping our hobby to grow.
This is why I joined Lat-g. Most poeple here are more than willing to bend over backwards to give positive and truthfull answers to questions posted.
I have seen threads here of great generosity to those in need from family issues, medical issues, job issues and car related issues.
The point I am trying to make goes to two groups, the new people and the veterans of this site. To the new people, you have found a great group of people with very big hearts and a huge source of information to help you on your builds. To the vets of the site, thanks for making this what it is. If I had not found this site (a mention in Camaro Performers led me here, Project Karma) I might have sold my car and gave up on the whole project. If I am ever in a position to help another member here I will jump at the chance.

My car is totally burried in my garage. I had shoulder surgery late last year and am just now getting over it. I have not had a chance to do anything on it for a while now. I plan on pulling it out of the garage as soon as the rain lets up here and getting back into it. Then I can post some picks. It's bare metal right now and I'm having a hard enough time fighting surface rust without it getting rained on too. Can I see some of your car?

Nice, can't wait to see your build pics.

Every site has its pros & cons. The bigger a site gets sometimes makes the cons more evident. I've learned to pick & choose the best parts of each (for me, at least).

welcome to the site. What you've seen here is exactly what we try to accomplish, have a great group of members who share a common passion, without a ton of drama. I really appreciate your comments.

Again, I really did not want to use anyone or any issue as a specific example, the last thing I want to do is judge others. I know there are alot of people here that also use other sites and that's great. Too much info is never a bad thing and to each his own. Live and let live.
I simply wanted to express my appreciation to the good people here for making Lateral-G the place I feel most comfortable and have the most confidence in the advice I might receive when I have a question. We all know that good friends are hard to find, trusting a stranger can be a really bad idea these days too. But as I read above, "the vibe here" is good. Thanks for listening again.
Eric
