Default first gen subframe

I was looking at a guys build earlier where he was building his frame from the ground up. I am a pretty damn good mig welder if i might say so myself so I am wondering if its possible to build my self a sub frame that just as comparable to a dse or a speed tech etc. or getting the measurements from one and doing it have any of you done this or tried it or heard anything about it because for me it would be much more cost effective.

I do know a fantastic fab-man that goes by coolwelder62 on here. I would bet he can hook you up. I had him build one for a 67 rs I am slowly doing. Had it powdercoated and the fit and finish is perfect! I know he built several for himself and a few others. He may sell you the plans or whatever it takes to build one. Send him a pm or look him up in the book under Chubby's Welding in Baldwin City, Kansas. Pretty sure I can find a picture or 3 if you want to see one. Good luck!
