Default Wheel alignment question (Kind of)

Ok, here we go, how square is the "normal" car I have spent a considerable amount of time getting the car "square". As in wheelbase the same side to side and corner to corner, but I've come up 1/4" off is this acceptable. I'm to much of a perfectionist to know anything but right-on. I know the car "moved" a little when I welded it up and that I could get it close when I was done. But what is acceptable?

Well, it occurs to me that perhaps not all of the modifications I made are technically 'street legal'

this kind....

I,m just woundering how square is acceptable, I can go ahead and tighten all the mounts up. I can't just keep adjusting it back and forth forever.

1/4" is a tad on the big side, but really not a big deal (especially for a home build). The most important part is being able to align it correctly, and you shouldn't have a problem with that. Most early cars can be up to 3/8" out of square, new cars are around 3/16".
