Default Looking for a shop close to home

I have a 67 Nova I bought recently, the story I was told by the previous owner is that it had a high end resto done to the car about 15 years ago, before he bought it. It aparantly had some issues with paint bubbling after about 12 years, the owner then had the car completely stripped and found it was a horrible repair job. He started to make it into a pro street car and bought lots of new sheet metal for it, but lost interest and felt the car was a total loss due to the crappy repairs.

I live in Vancouver BC and my shop options here are quite limited for what needs to be done. If anyone has had top notch work done in my area, please let me know.

The car is a 67 SS HT car, the shell has been walnut blasted and apoxy coated to prevent rust, all other body parts have been acid dipped and are bare steel, car is virtually rust free except for some pin holes in the floor, previous owner has welded in a mustang II front crossmember and tacked a 4 link in the rear.

The bad: The car at some point has been in an accident in the left rear which buckled the factory framerail and damaged both quarters, it was repaired, but quite poorly. The car came with new full quarters and all the other metal needed for the repairs, I now just need a shop that is experienced in this kind of work.

The car is in storage at a friends place, so i will post pics as soon as I can get out there so you guys can have a look-see and tell me who can do it.

Barry

Definately call Blake at Killer Customs - he does first class work and is right in your back yard.

If you are prepared to cross the Mountains I would suggest that you call Chris Heighton at Heighton Restorations (403-947-2260) who did my car.

www.bruningautodesign.com or 360 254-0060

Straight forward small shop, metal work and design is as good as it gets, best shop rate around the NW.

They have several regular members that they are doing (or have done) work for

Thanks for the info, I am looking into any tax implications at the border when bringing the car back home.

Is Blake the fabricator there?, I have seen some cool fab work from them. I think they had a big booth at the Abbotsford Tradex last year and brought Chip Foose to town?? I had a quick look at their web site, not much in terms of body and metalwork pics?

Does Cris Heighton have a web site? and where exactly is he located?

Barry
