I would use the Z-Bar if I could, using all the hyd stuff is nice but its more complicated. sometime you have to go hyd bedcasue of space, and fitment issues.

My choice would definetly be hydro. It is some times easier to setup and when your done pretty well worry free. They make kits for the 69 that are very simple to install. With the linkage you have to worry about flex,( in your case)making mounts, and adjustment. Check out Kieslers or classic five speed, they both have good setups for your car.

Nothing wrong with the hyd setup, just some more $, and if you TOB goes bad you got to drop the trans... its up to you. I will be using an all hyd setup...

Hydraulic is best - for pedal effort, ease of installation, smooth & quiet operation.
If you go mechanical, which we also provide, then you'll need to get the bracket for the pivot stud, as GM didn't provision the engine for manual transmission.
Just PM or email us for details on either.

It's my understanding that these engines have the boss for the clutch Z bar, but will have to be drilled and tapped if using a stock mechanical clutch linkage. Personally, I think a hydraulic clutch setup is much smoother and lighter, but I know more than a couple of guys who want nothing but the old mechanical setup.

I have a ZZ502/502 General VI engine and it has the boss for the pivotball. It was easy to drill and tap if you want to go in that direction.
