Default Open road race video

This is about a 2 year old video of an open road race. What I was wondering was if anyone on this site has ever had the opportunity to do this type of racing ?? It sure looks like fun.

That race is in Texas, just south of Midand/Odessa Tx. I don't know how long that race is, but just down the road a bit (Ft.Stockton,Tx) is where the big one is, Big Bend Open Road Race. I ran it in 2007, what a RUSH!!
BBORR is a 120 mile event. 60 miles each way with 59 turns on HWY 285 that runs from Ft.Stockton to Sanderson Tx.(Davis Mountain Range) Has everything from 5 mile long flat straights ,sweepers, blind truns out of a quick rise (hill) with elevation changes of about 800 feet through out the run. Absolutely a beautiful drive. Its a must do IMO .

ps. a good navigator is a MUST

I have competed in them for 10 years now.i run or should say ran a Lightning truck with average speeds in the 135-150 groups.Lotsa fun super concentration needed and you have to know the limits of you and the car.one mistake at one of these events and you will roll the vehicle up in a ball and hope you survive with only a few injuries. With one group closing down due to not enough particapants[MKM] there are now 4 ORR events the funnest is the Big bend one then you have the Silverstate [2] and the Sand hills. If you are a rookie at these you will be limited to 140 tech speed 120 average, and you might think that is slow but that is an average for the whole course so it is more exhilarating than you think. If you need more info go google Open road racing .Stan

Thanks for the video. This is awesome! I wish there were more events like this... especially out East.
