Exclamation Thread display mode

I received a heads up from a forum member that his thread display was defaulting to 'Threaded Mode' instead of 'Linear Mode'. If you're not sure what I'm talking about, look at top area of this post and you'll see several options, and on the far right, there's a drop down menu called 'Display Modes'. By default, it should be on 'Linear Mode'. I hadn't seen this issue before, I get the Linear mode by default on my home computer and work computer regardless if I'm logged in or out. The settings in the Admin Cpanel are correct as well, but I'm curious if any other members have seen their default to something other than Linear.

To me, anything other than the 'Linear Mode' is annoying. lol

Thanks guys!

Looks to be linear for the default. He might have a cookie from a different forum or something. "clear all cookies" might fix that.
