Default Detroit Speed & Engineering...

Just wanted to make a post here to let some (no,all) of you know, If you have never been to DS&E Shop or met any of the crew at from there, YOU ARE MISSING OUT.
Went to Fort Bragg, NC yesterday to pick up a 72 el camino, and while on the road, Called and spoke with Lindsay, told her I recived my new catolog a couple of weeks prior and wanted to know if they had a display of there new QUADRA Link setup? She invited me to come by today and take a look, Told me what time the guys got in the shop, What time she got there and that I should meet and talk with Kyle or Frank.
Got to there shop at 10:15 am and left at 1:00pm Talked with Frank about all there products, And got to look at most of all the produts they sell on the cars that where being built in the shop. Nice to see people practicing what the preach. (also reconized a couple of the cars that where there)
Guys im telling, This did not look like a fab shop. It was more like a museum, taped off work spots on the floor for each car/project. everything was on a cart or a shelf. (everything had its location)
Kyle is without a doubt, an owner who is/should be proud of his business, and it shows. it shows in there quaility of work, product, cleanliness, and attitude of his employees.
Kyle, 2 thumbs up.
Frank I will call you in a day or two, Would like to come back next week and talk more with you and Kyle. Thank you for the POWERTOUR... Chuck Leslie

Very cool story and I have heard great things about DSE. I always wanted to visit them while they were in Detroit but I really did not feel worthy. "Im not worthy, im not worthy"
I will be buying my quick gear ratio steering box from them and subframe connectors hopefully next year.

Who is DSE?

I'm planning on going to visit soon. About a year ago, I called DSE and asked to speak with Kyle. He got on the phone and I asked him every question under the sun about Camaros, his products ect. He was very nice, never acted like I was bothering him, just a real nice guy. After I got a car to start my project with, I ordered everything he offered and called him all the time to ask questions ect. I would even call him on his cell on the weekends and evenings. He and Stacey and their crew are super nice. After I finished my car, I sent it to them to make sure everything I did was correct. He found a few things he didn't like and corrected them. When I got the car back, it was perfect. I had it one week, took it to a show and then that Sunday I called Kyle and said I needed more motor. He laughed and said "send it to me".. I'm hoping to get it back next week! What a great group of people to work with. There are shops out there that can build a nice car, then there is DSE that treats every car like a "one off"..

You guys just GOTTA go visit the shop. Just imagine a row of first gen Camaros in various stages of completion--all lined up like you stepped out of a time machine and into a Camaro assembly line. Only the time machine took you to an alternate dimension where all Camaros are pumped up with high performance goodies and extraordinary detail. Can you picture this?

Now picture that all this is taking place in a nice, clean former NASCAR Busch Series shop with a separate body/fab shop, a surface plate and a separate assembly area. It's very cool.

SW,
You know, when I walk in the shop with frank, I looked around the shop at the cars the were working on, an I knew that Black Beauty was yours right away. They have built a NICE exhaust system for you. Im sure you already know, but you will not be disapointed. And by the way, That is 1 nice machine you own there. Very well thought out. I was impressed at all the detail you have put into it.

Stuart while you are in town and if you have time lets get together.

As far as DSE...The whole crew there has been nothing but outstanding to me and the customer service is first rate. I could not wait for them to move to NC and I have been so busy I have yet to go by there. I need to change that very soon.

Met Kyle and Stacey on Hot Rod Power Tour 2001, when they drove their awesome yellow 69 Camaro (before they opened DS&E), super nice people.
