Default '89 Mustang - For Sale

Well, the time has come for the Mustang to move on to another home. I have mixed emotions about this decision, but I think it's time...............

You won't see many nicer Fox Body Coupes around. It's an 1989 5.0 5-speed car with power windows. If you know these cars, '89 is desirable due to the absence of the airbag which allows for it to still have a tilt column and also it's the first year for the Mass Air EECIV (A9L).

Many of you have seen my car at RTHII, III, and IV. It is a really fun car and very reliable.

Here is a list of the mods from my web site.

There are tons of other little detailed things that have been done to the car. I pretty much bought it new whenever available.

Why are you selling?!?! Damn that is a nice Fox, very clean! Anyone who buys it is getting a beautiful car!

Good luck with your sale, but personally, I think you should keep it!

Shiny Side Up!

Combination of a few motivating factors -

I'm about knee deep in a '52 Chevy Pickup right now and I have a '62 Olds F-85 in line behind it. Garage space is at a premium. My wife is actually urging me to keep the car - that's a unique situation. I'm just ready to move on to some other projects.

I don't really have to get rid of it, but I just feel like it's the right move to allow me to focus move on to - hopefully bigger, better things!

Got any interior pictures?

Also, any more pictures detailing the rust that was removed/replaced?

I don't have too many interior pics - I need to take some. I'll post some when I get home tonight or in the morning. It's grey interior. It's in pretty good shape for the age of the car. The console has been slightly modified to mount my Air Ride gages.

The pics on my web site are the only ones that I took of the rust repair. The only two spots where the lower driver's side fender, which can be seen here.

and the decklid. I can assure you that those two spots were fixed right. New metal was welded in flush - no overlapping crappy work. I apologize for not after pics of the decklid, I probably forgot the camera. I can take some pics of the finished product if you would like.

The one other spot that you see in the pics was a dent in the lower driver's side quarter that had been repaired with filler previously. We went as far to remove the inner structure to get to the back side of the panel, pin welded and pulled and hammered and dollied it back to shape - then obviously the inner structure was welded back in place.

Once all of the repairs were complete it was primed with Dupont VariPrime, then Dupont UroPrime. Weld seams were seam sealed with 3M seam sealer. Sound deadening material was applied to the floors (not Dynamat though, but a cheaper version).

Another common problem area for these cars is the heater core - it is new.

One thing that I did forget to mention is that the cruise control is currently not working. Just trying to be honest. I think it's either a vacuum problem or a speed sensor issue. I haven't taken the time to troubleshoot it.

You can't see much of the interior in these pics, but you can see some of the Air Ride install.

http://wiedos.com/89_Mustang/AirRide/

The digital gage has been replaced with analog dual needle gages. As mentioned above I still have and it can go with the car if wanted. The readings were just too erratic for my liking.

Also, if not mentioned above it is a 4-way (each wheel is independant) Air Ride control setup>
