Unhappy Fuel Pressure Psi

I run a 8psi,72gph carter rotary fuel pump,3/8 line to a standard holly non bypass regulator, then a fire wall mounted fram hp canister fuel filter ,in that order,to a holly advenger carb, but the guage mounted on the carb will not read over 2.5 psi,no matter how you adjust the regulator, should I put the filter before the regulator ,or does this matter?I am baffled on this one,any thoughts would be welcome.Thank-you in advance

That was going to be my question too.

If it is, quickly pop off and then replace the rubber plug on the gauge case and see if the reading changes.

I ended up replacing mine with an autometer non liquid filled. Reads perfect hot or cold. The liquid filled dropped off way to much.

Check your filter for debris and your regulator. The regulator will have an inlet screen.

Any time I have a pressure issue, like low oil or fuel pressure, the first thing I do is verify with a second gauge. More often than not the original gauge is not reading correctly.

If the second gauge reads the same I'd try moving the gauge directly to the regulator, should be an 1/8" npt plug on it. Remove the plug, install the gauge, and put the plug in the fuel line where the gauge is now and re-test.
