Default Scott Shafiroff crate engines

Has anyone had any experience with the Scott Shafiroff crate engines. I'm thinking about getting the 434 sbc 575 hp version for my car. It's the classic with the roller lifters. Here's a link: http://ultrastreet.net/engines/434_classic.asp

based on my personal exp. with the big name engine builders. I'd shy away and go talk with GM perf. parts, or spend a little extra and have tom nelson build ya something. Or find a reputable shop in your area. Goodluck!

I have heard both good and bad but mostly good. I personally would go with what Gordz32 suggests.

A friend of mine bought a 632 pump gas engine and it seized upon break-in. They told him to ship it back (at his cost), they'd take a look at it and charge him for parts only.

If you can a NELSON racing engine, that would be killer. But the LSx engines are sweeet as well.

If this guy, Larry Meauxs is the same guy I'm thinking about, this guys knows his stuff. He does great work for heads on the LSx engines I believe.
