Default Trying to find an old thread

Hi guys! I remember looking at a thread from a while ago about someone converting a wood bandsaw to a metal badsaw. I thought there was a full thread some where around here explaining what they had to do but i can't find it anywhere. Am i loosing my mind or am i just blind? Thanks

You might try www.OWWM.com
I think I remember some stuff on that subject there. I was going to do the same thing as you but a month ago I came across a better deal. Found a real deal 70's era Powermatic 143 on craigslist that had been dropped and had a few pieces broken. Found the broken pieces needed on line used.

Now I have an industrial quality metal or wood saw with 500.00 invested.
Still have to get a blade and couple small pieces but hope to have 600.00 in the whole thing.

You might check around you might get lucky too. http://www.practicalmachinist.com/ and OWWM are both good places to learn about saws and find parts.

Yep, that thread's at PT.com, and it's at least a couple of years old.
