Question 68-74 Nova Heads Inside Please

O.K let try to make this as short as posssible. I bought a 1970 Nova off of a friend of a friend whos dad passed away. No one in the family can find the title for the car or the keys. So we go to get the VIN# off the car and you cant read it off the dash, so we try the door witch you can read it, we take it to the BMV and they said that its not right???? so My question is were is anoter spot that i can try to get the VIN# to try and get a title for this thing??? I have got the back seat out thinking that the build sheet might be their like in my 79z but nothing. If anyone has any idea that would be great

Thanks
Brandon

Just had mine inspected early in the week. They used the dash and door.

I take a look around today and see if I can find a few more..

Did the family check their insurance records? The VIN may be on there. Also in some states the State Police are able to locate a secondary VIN. If the family has power of attorney they should be able to fie for a lost title through DOL/DMV. You may have to find a DOL employee willing to do some extra work for you.
