Default Original color or what?

Greetings,

I have a 67 Camaro in the process of PT transformation. It was black from the factory, but had a lousey green single stage sprayed at one point. Is there any benefit to staying with the stock color for desirability? or should I follow my heart and go with fuscia. Black seems to be popular but difficult to maintain. are prople sick of black?

I feel anything goes when it comes to a PT car, so go with what you want. If it was a numbers car and you were looking for originality, then yes factory paint is important.

Black is a desirable color, and you're lucky the original paint wasn;t some crappy green.

Yes, black is a PITA to maintain and will show waves and imperfections in the body work, so make sure your metal is straight.

NOTHING looks as good and a straight black car wet sanded and polished to perfection with depth for days.

My '69 was originally Frost Green (code 59) and I have never regretted switching it over to Millenium Yellow.

Default Black it is!

I definately agree that black is as good looking as it a PITA to prep for and maintain. I guess since I was lucky enough to end up with a factory black car, the cosmo's were aligned. This is the frendliest forum I have ever posted at. They either ignore or yell at me on the Subaru forums. -and no, I don't ask about Camaro's.

I think black is the best looking of all but only when it's spotless.

You really have to ask yourself if you are painting this car to re-sell or to really feel good in it for years to come. Go with your gut feeling.

Fuscia??

I agree with the afforementioned opinions but I know how you feel about black. I love black but have vowed "never again". Forget swirls... just keeping the dust and pollen off it is impossible.

Color choice is very personal and you should go with what YOU want but also consider that someday you may decide to sell the car so choose a color wisely. It could make or break your asking price and ability to sell quickly.
