Default deleting tranny crossmember?

I was just under my car fabricating a dual exhaust and.. the crossmember sure got in the way of how i would have liked to have routed the exhaust... now my question is:

since im running solid body mounts, is there anything keeping me from making a tranny mount that bolts to the floor of the car like on the late model f.bodies (there is already a mounting gizmo for some untold widget.... no idea what its for) but the flooring seems plenty strong to support the aprox 100 lbs load there is on the trannymount..

Default

It is a structural part of your frame and does have to deal with driveshaft harmonics.
