Default Some Dragrace pics

I went to the major dragrace event here in Stockholm yesterday. Wanted to share some of my cool pics, totally it was 275 images but here are a few.

Fastest Top Fueler 5.03 sec

Pro Mod Winner, always a spectator-pleaser with halftrack burnouts. 6.41 sec

Very good looking Pro Mod 4th gen Camaro

Good looking and fast '69 Camaro Z/28, went to the finals in Street

Winner in ProStreet. They have a 7.6 sec breakout. This guy nailed that pretty good with a best time during eliminations at 7.607! Never went slower than 7.68

That is Fast Freddie, he has a new paint this year.

No we never went to Santa Pod, we once were at Le Mans for a match race. At that time Swedish racers was always upclassed so that the English cars wouldn't be beaten.

I had a startline pass for this race

No, they didn't upclass them so that the English cars could win, they did it to save the Swedish the embaressment of losing !!!!!!!!! lol I used to go to the Pod & watch the Doorslammer Nationals when all of the Scandinavian cars would come over, absolutely AWESOME racing !! strange choice of cars by your lot though, always seemed to be the biggest "aircraft carrier" size ones you could get. Could never understand how you could afford such exotic equipment & you always turned up with beautiful babes. I remember one team, "Team Karl" always had loads of gear, we found out later they raised their racing funds by robbing banks !!
Freddie really is a showman huh?

What does Flygvapnet & Bifrost mean? It used to be on two of the funny cars in the early '80's?, just curious, always wondered

Flygvapnet is the Royal Swedish Airforce. Pretty awesome sponsorship deal he struck with them. Owner/driver was Anders Hasselström Unfortunatelly he was killed in a terrible fire in his car in 1988.

Bifrost is from the Vikingmythology, see we bring them up again.
This is what I found at Wikipedia:
In Norse Mythology, Bifröst is the bridge leading from the realm of the mortals Midgard to the realm of the gods Asgard, which the gods travel daily to hold their councils under the shade of the tree Yggdrasil. The bridge itself is the rainbow and its guardian is the god Heimdall. The red color was the flaming fire, which served as a defense against the giants. The bridge is destroyed at the end of the world, Ragnarök. It was built by the Æsir.

If I remember correc the driver of that car got a jailsentence because he and his mother had a major highclass brotheloperation.
