Dse Stands

have done a small search but would like to know thet spec for the 2''/4'' wood stands that dse uses in the shop? i see that they are 9 tall but not sure how wide they are if anyone has made a set or know the secs that would be great. and if you have made a set how much wood did you use? just trying to get a idea for cost.

Not sure on cost of wood to make but seem to remember they are 12'' long by 12'' wide from what I can recall.They definitely come in handy and we use them often .take care Joe

Mine that I built are 12" x 19" x 7 boards high. The 19" width allows my 315 tire to fit well but would go 20" if you want to mock up 335 tires.

And yes it really helps when measuring for rear end widths!

I got all four made today and was not bad at all in cost the wood was 26 and change but i had left over lowes gift cards that was 7 bucks so it was only $19 and the nails were free from my dads work WOOT WOOT. I only have the ones under the front as the rear tires are not on due to harware issues. but all in all not a bad deal for something that you can use on any thing with wheels. and I did go 12'' by 12'' on all fours FYI

My next project, thanks! And to think I was thinking a buying a used Kwiklift for $900 when this accomplishes the same thing with not much more work.

How many nails did you use on each piece of cut 2x4 to fasten them?

First the nails i used are long enought to go threw two boards and parts of the 3rd so i used two nail per board. Seems to be enough for me they are very strong. I would trust my 2500HD truck on these

ok some dumb questions..

The car does not move at all with the 2 x 4's ? how in the world did you get the car that high? not sure my jack will go up that high lol..

I put a block of wood between the frame and the jake, just make sure that you watch the other stands so they dont kick out. I did not have a problem but its good to make sure and they do not move unless you want to knock the car off LOL I thin kthey are better than jack stand IMHO
