Default 08 Camaro Superfest

Went to the 08 Camaro Superfest today here in Michigan. Not bad, about 220 cars. Here's a couple pics I took. Funny story about the day. I went to the awards and was waiting for my class to be called and nothin! The guy that was parked next to me was as dumbfounded as me. Not to be a jerk, but I should have at least placed. There was a tie for third for Gods sake. Here I am thinking, ok whatever, and go back to the car and start getting ready to go. I could still here all the other classes and then they got to the special awards. They call me for best paint, so I go up to get the award and just as I was walking away they called me again for Participant's choice. Again, as I started to walk back to the car, my curiousity got the best of me, so I asked the lady working the table if she could check my class and see where I actually placed. I figured, how could I get these and not even place in my class?? I usually don't ever really care about this stuff, it was just a little strange, especially knowing what the competition was. Not to take anything away from them, but I think I have a little bit of an eye for this stuff. Well, needless to say, when I saw the look on her face after looking at my judging sheet, that said it all. She said someone mis-calculated my points and I was actually first. She gave me another plack and said she would send me the plate that goes on it, rather than call everyone back. Anyway, thought that was pretty funny. The guy that thought he won actually came over to me at the end and said he couldn't believe that I didn't win, and I hated telling him, but he was cool about it. Besides they let him keep the plack they gave him, so all is well.

Congrats on the plaque. I remeber when we would put on a show every year people would always accuse use not knowing how to judge. So we made peoples choice and for a buck a vote sheet you could go around and judge cars that fixed most of are problems just one point is way easier than ten for eight for that and so on. Sorry getting off my soap box again congrats and looked like it was a great day for a show.

Your car is definetly on our "shoot list" but we we've been busy shooting another members car

Do you know the guy that owns that second gen?

I talked to Rob last week about shooting it. We are both going to be in Columbus, so we may be able to do it there??? If not, then anytime after that, I'm pretty open. There's another one of your competitors that wants to shoot it down there also, so we'll see what happens. The cars have to stay in the Pro's Pick area pretty much for the duration, so I don't know if we'll get anything accomplished. Have to wait and see.

I talked to the guy with the 70 for a few minutes. It's a very nice car(640hp!), but I never got any of his info. I'm sure you could track him down through the club's contact info. Here's a link http://www.camarosuperfest.com/

Who else wants to shoot it? In any event we'll do it better and most likely give it more pages..

Thanks for the lead on the 2nd gen, nice car.
