Painting windshield and rear window trim 68 camro????

Has anyone painted the polished aluminum windshield trim on a 68 camaro?? Any other options??

Yeah more than a few have gone that route to get the modern/flush mount look. We have done it on some other cars, semi gloss rustoelum holds pretty well, needs touch up sometimes, etc...

However we put away the spray can when got our eastwood powder coat gun a few years back. At home powder coat job on our 70 ford pickup trim has held up for 5 years so far no problem.

That looks awsome, and it sounds like the powdercoating holds up too. The car is going to be bright red. Can you get a satin or flat black with powdercoating? Will basecoat clear coat to match the body color hold up??? How do you think that would look??

The powder coating is way more durable, the problem is the paint will last but when you intstall them its hard to do it with out scratching them, you can do either but for ease the powder coating is the way to go, you want the trim to match the car so it just disapears you dont want it to stand out and red would really stand out. Black will just fade with the windows for a cleaner look.

You can get flat/semi/satin powder coating.

Paint the trim to match body color no problem. During the cut in phase your painting under the trim pieces. Then install the trim when your ready to seal/paint the car. Just tape off the glass and go! However unless its a black car I do no think painting the trim to match the car color would look good. It would simply look like someone was to laz to remove the trim and did a quick paint job (thats just imo).

We have done trim both ways paint and powder coating
If I had a choice I'd have them powder coated we had the trim done in 60% gloss which looks like satin black
