Default 2008 challenger (new pics)

I got some pictures of the pre-production challenger today at the vancouver (Canada) autoshow
this car is exactly as they will be produced, NOT a concept or prototype
it comes out next month, 500 srt8's this year
$44000 dollars canadian so the USA will probably be less, the new charger superbee retail is $52000 ????????????
only in black pearl or orange pearl this year
its a very cool car just needs lowering a bit to make it perfect.

Im sorry but it will take more than lowering to make this car perfect!
The stubby body sides and tweaks they do to these cars to pass standards of the crash test and so on dosent allow for a true great lines vehicle!
Personally you can put all the SRT badges you want on it and sure there will be alot of more money than brain people out there to buy them but theres a few challengers running around this site that are being built that are absolutely beautiful, and id rather have my money invested in a real challenger like some of these great cars!
Even with modern running gear etc, Than you would have a great looking car and something unique, And worth something.
Dont get me wrong you have to nod your cap to these auto makes for actually building these cars but think why they are. They have ignored the platform of great rear wheel muscle cars so long that they really had no choice but to build them with all the chanting from the horsepower people and the lack of auto sales and excitement was about gone! in the market! for FUN performance cars again nice to see the big three HP wars on again but these cars to me fall far from the target in raw muscle car appeal and wow factor!

ok
maybe perfect wasn't the correct word to use
and I agree on the buying an older challenger and modding it to be far better than this> But this isnt supposed to be a pro-touring style car, this is a daily driver to drive when your not driving your real car or its raining
if you have to pick a familyish car, watcha gonna pick??? a honda civic? camry? mustang? charger? or a challenger (next year when the realistic models are availible)
I don't want to encourage the styling vs challenger war, just posting picks of what will be hitting the streets in a month.
I also spoke to a gm official about the camaro (which didn't turn up to the show) and i was told that the interior was going to have the weird gauge pods just like 1969
they also said that they wanted people to post their own opinions of likes and dislikes of the new camaro on the GM website for review

Yeah i agree. although the camaro looks to be listed now as a 2010!
and the rumor here is that its wieght is comming in around 4,000 lbs if thats the case bad news bears for the performance!
But between the two the Camaro all the way. Say you take the two and lower them run some great looking billet rollers and suspenion mods and such i think the camaro will be kick ass ecs when they build that 6 cylinder model and you can put in a 572 and still have the same money in one as a v8 version lol would be fun lol
