Just a nice quiet b-day. I actually picked up a 11 hp Crafstman riding mower from my neighbor as she was getting ready to throw it away. It had been sitting outside next to her garage for over a year. I had to fix the mower deck and get it running. Problem was that she lost the key and I had to hot wire it. It has been YEARS since I last fooled with a lawn mower engine. I forgot how the coil/electrical worked. I wired 12+ to the coil and SMOKED it.
So, a new coil later and it still wouldn't run. Told my wife I wanted to tinker with it tonight (before the birthday meal). I actually had to mow my lawn anyway (mow it on Mondays), so while I was mowing I was thinking. DOH! I realized I had the coil grounded now all the time so it would not spark. Rewired it and VROOOOM!
That made my Birthday!
We have a repo house here in the neighborhood with grass grown up to my knees. I keep driving past it thinking "won't somebody do something about that..." Then I realized, I am somebody.
So, the goal is to get this riding mower healthy enough to go tackle that jungle of a yard. It is about two houses down, but looks like the Adams Family right now. The rider is major overkill for my little yard, so I will just give it away after this repo house ordeal is back with a responsible owner.
The crazy things I get into.
NO-didn't make any trips with the Camaro as planned this last weekend to Tampa. The 9" is still messed up and I am not getting lock up all the time. Got plans in the works for that so maybe in a week or two that will be running smooth.
I keep driving past it thinking "won't somebody do something about that..." Then I realized, I am somebody.
I know it may seem like something little...but that attitude is something so honorable these days. If not through all your posts and uplifting attitude on your car and others...that quote right there shows you are a truly great guy.
Happy Bday again...
Tim
