Default Working on the wiring

I haven't posted anything for a while, and since it's Friday, here's an update. I'm working on the wiring and have almost all of it done except for the dash, I'm waiting on a few parts before I can start on that.

I'm using an American Autowire Classic Update kit and I'm extremely impressed with it. I'd highly recommend that kit to anyone that's redoing their wiring. I'm about done installing the Electric-Life power windows, and I think that may be the easiest install and wiring of anything I've ever installed. I picked up the AAW kit and EL power windows from Frank at GP Superstore. Thanks again, Frank! The only odd problem that I ran into with the wiring was that when I'd hit the brake lights, the front marker lights would come on. A broken turn signal switch was the cause, which I most likely broke it at some point when working on the car over the past few years. lol

I used a mix of Dynamat and, at Rupp's recommendation, some B-Quiet. After using both back to back, I prefer the B-Quiet. It's more compliant and a bit easier to work with.

I picked up a metripak connector kit to use in the harness and dash instead of using the orriginal style connectors.

I'm switching to Auto Meter Ultra-Lite II gauges that are all electric and full sweep. They use through the face LED lighting and look fantastic. I'm not ready to install them yet, but I just had to hook a couple up and check them out.

And here's the LED tail lights with reverse lights. I got creative so the parking/brake lights didn't bleed through the reverse light lense.

That is a lot of wiring work! And I love the gauges, especially with the full-lights coming through rather than just on the outside edge.

Are those Marquez tail lights? It might be time to buy the Camaro a present!

Thanks for the update! Getting an idea on a time-line for completion? Looks like she could be ready for the first spring cruises?!

Thanks for the update, Scott. Just what was needed on a Friday!

The Ultra-Lite IIs look fantastic! ...Where did you find a good source for the Metripak connector kit?

I'm making good progress, I'm hoping to have it pretty well finished up by the end of March.

Thanks Rob. It's a Jaspers Electronics kit, I got it at Jeg's. I chose metripak over weatherpak since this kit has 10 cavity connectors.

Quote:
Metripack Kits: Used on GM Vehicles 1995-97. This kit contains GM Metripack sealed connectors in 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, and 10 cavity configurations along with cable seals, male terminals and female terminals. These connectors and terminals are designed for 18 to 14 gage wire sizes. This kit contains 4 pairs each of 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, and 10 cavity METRIPACK® connectors With a limited assortment of terminals and seals used for repair or replacement of this style connector.

Very nice! Do you put on soft slippers so you don't scratch the sill

That project is on my list too.
