Default LS1 vs LS2 oil pans and other ?????

Which is better? They both hold 5.5 quarts although I have heard that the screen on an LS2 pan is a little longer. I haven't been able to confirm it on LS1 tech though.

The LS1 pan is a little easier to find used.

My LSX build up will be stroked to 7 liters. Do any of you LSX builders think 5.5 quarts might not be enough for 7 liters? (eventhough the LS2 pan is used on the 6.2 liter LS3)

Thanks in advance,
Jim

As far as oil control goes the LS1 pan is better because of its bolt on baffling with a superior design whereas the LS2 pan has the baffling cast in the pan as a measure to save money.
