Default SMOTY...And the Winner Is:

Back in my hotel room after witnessing the Goodguys Street Machine of the Year Awards. ..and the winner is: Roy Pigford's 66 Chevy II

See complete coverage of the car here:
http://popularhotrodding.com/features/0409phr_pigford/

Runner Ups Include a CRAZY Hemi 70 Challenger built by Bobby Alloway, a slick, black 65 or 66 Mustang and two very street roddish 69 Camaros Other than the Alloway Challenger, which has an awesome Art Morrisson Enterprises Chassis, all of the other finalists used Air Ride Suspension

Other Highlights: Detroit Speed unveiled their easy to install and very functional 4 Link kit which features patent pending "swivel links" to completely (Yes, I said COMPLETELY) eliminate binding without resorting to heims joints. It took best product of the year awards.
Congrats to Kyle and Stacey

I knew Roy was going & thought he probably would win. But not knowing who show's up - always makes you wonder. Especially with the level, not to mention quanity of cars coming out. Seems like just a few years ago you could go to show and have a handful of cars that were "Over the Top". Now you go to a show & there all over the place. No doubt the hobby is stronger than ever!!

Congrats Roy!!

Roy was actually supposed to compete in last years SMOTY but that nasty little problem w/the hood unlatching & smacking the roof kept him @ home.

Congrats to him & his talented crew. His graphics guy is top notch!
