Default Anyone here have a Ford GT?

I have been thinking about getting one. My wife says it's not a real sexy car, but I think they are kinda kool.. Just wondering what you guys think.

I do not personally have one but have done work for a couple that has one in there stable. I would say its one SWEEET!! ride, it red with white stripes . I have been lucky enough to drive his Shelby GT500, which he claims is way more fun. I hope to get to drive the GT this summer it reminds me of a jet fighter type of cockpit inside. If you would like to talk to him about it I may be able to get you in contact with him, but I think he's wintering in Florida. Good luck, Travis

SW...there is a guy that used to hang out on www.hotrod.com in the dragweek forum with one. He even raced it on dragweek and won his class. I think its a pretty cool ride and would kill to drive one.

I've driven one... I liked it. Didn't really get to thrash on it though to get a real feel for the at the limits handling or braking stamina under repeated use. Acceleration was good, 1-time stop braking was good, handling seemed to be nice and predictable but being on public roads and also because it wasn't my car I didn't do anything crazy with it.

It also was suffering from a leaky rear main seal at the time (warranty notice for that.)

The owner recently put more track oriented brakes on it and Penske triple adjustable shocks ($$$) and claims it's an entirely new animal on the track now.

They are cool and there are a TON of mods out there for them.

SW,

Get the Powder blue (gulf heritage color one), to show your sensitive side to your wife, add some FIKSE wheels in orange and contact the gut in Car and Driver that you ran against in the Viper shootout, add his mods and run 10's. There is a co out there (Classic Design Concept) that makes a rear bumper removal kit and car looks even better.

Or you could just get your usual black.

One sold on BJ for about 146k.. seems the price is leveling out. I think it would be a good purchase for the future.
