Default Should I say yes to the Blow Job? Not to be confused with "Should I hit it or quit it

Rodger and a friend were screwing around in the shop today and his friend had suggested to him that we should put a blower on the LS7. Rodger felt that it wouldn't fit but for $hit$ and giggles he had a Procharger laying around and decided to see what it would look like or if it would even fit.

It fit! DAMMIT! LOL!

What do you think?

What to do, what to do!!!

Adding a blower will add an additional 150 hp which would bring total HP to 650hp. For street that is a hell of a lot of HP to be responsible for! The car will be all over the place with that kind of torque and HP but DAMN it sure looks snug as a bug in a rug where it's at. It seems to have just made itself at home there! LOL!

It does kinda look like it belongs there. You know if you take it off it's gonna look like something is missing - so go for it.

You should change pistons if you are going to use it.

Here's my dilemma!

Apart from the fact that this isn't in the budget(Budget? What's that?!?) for the blower to effectively be used I would, as Stuart says, need to change out the pistons since they are cast and not forged which would mean more dough thrown at cracking the motor open which, of course knowing me, would ALSO mean that since we're in there we might as well cam it, new rocker arms, etc.

CHA-CHINGGGGGGGG!!!!

Also, the block itself is an issue as the cylinder walls are not all that conducive for a blown application.

And lastly, the car itself is being built as a hybrid street/road racer and the blower wouldn't really help in that application either so why do it?

BECAUSE IT LOOKS SO DAMN COOL IN THERE!

(I'm a VERRRRYY sick person!)

If you are the sick person you say, I remember seeing a post about So Cal heat and icecicles. Put the blower in and hook it to the vintage air unit insted of the LS7. Wait, does the vintage air control panel have a setting on the fan control for "Hurricane"? What ever you choose will be hot. Keep that porn coming!

LOL! That's funny!

Apparently, Procharger already has a kit that bolts on with no internal modifications needed.

http://www.procharger.com/C6_LS7.shtml

A lot of the Road Racers that I talk to have told me that they wouldn't do the S/C and that it will not help in road racing. I assume it is because of the high accel/decel that road racing requires. Is this why? As I said in the previous post, the car is being set up primarily as a hybrid street/road race car. I'm sure the blower would be great for drag racing but that isn't where it will be living most of the time.

I wouldn't do it. I have a ProCharger myself and am a fan of them...but with all the fab work on your car I think it should either stay 'clean' as Chris said, or go all the way and go TT!!

In my mind your car kicks ass and the LS7 will hold it's own!!
