Default Recommendation for Exhaust

Getting ready to buy my exhaust but trying to research first. What brand of stainless steel mufflers and exhaust do you guys recommend for a custom '69 Camaro with a 400hp small block? I would like a real aggressive sound. I have looked @ flowmaster but they do not sell stainless components. I have also looked @ spin tech and borla. Who should I go with?

Thanks,
Shawn

We have been selling and installing a lot of Magnflow and really like it. Great product at a great price. Love the sound.

The flowmaster hushpower is 304 stainless, you can also go to stainlesssteelmufflers.com and Edelbrock makes a 304 muffler too. There are alot of options. Stainlessworks.net also has 304ss mufflers.

I second the Magnaflow suggestion. Loud under acceleration yet more refined.

If you want a very loud and "raw" sound then Spintech..

Default Thank You

Thanks for the prompt reply guys. Any information is helpful. I have to say I have been looking into the spintech mufflers and would like an aggressive sound. I want the best of both worlds, to be noticed when pulling into a parking lot full of cars @ a carshow, but able to take a little cruise with my wife and enjoy a conversion.

The guys @ spintech have informed me if I want loud, go with the pro street muffler. The sportsman street is their next muffler which is a little quieter followed by the sportsman XL muffler which is even quieter. Can anyone give any more input on these mufflers?

Also, should I go with 3 inch or 2.5 inch? Engine builder says I should put 3 inch all the way back. All the muffler people suggest a 2.5 inch system. What do you think?

Thanks,
Shawn

400hp there is no reason to go bigger than 2.5"

Shawn, I have Spintech Sportsman Street mufflers on my car. I haven't really driven it yet, but I do like the way they sound. They remind me a lot of the Flowmaster 50 Series that I used to run, but without that tell-tale Flowmaster metallic ringing sound.
