If you are talking about having the car stripped by dipping it versus media blasting I would recommend media instead of dipping. Once dipped you can never get all the chemicals out from between the spot welded panels.

he is correct the only way I would dip one is if I were going to have it E-coated afterward. and even then not sure its worth it. The OE's seem to do a way better job with there ecoat process than the a/m vendors can......I say media the car.....

I'm agreeing with Clill and Travis media blast .
Once you acid dip it your going to want to dip it in e-coat.
I looked into before I think it was about 2000 to dip and 2500 to e-coat the complete car. I think it was somewere in New Jersey

The shop where the car is going suggested this (alkaline emmersion) via phone conversation prior to seeing the car. I did mention to them "why" when the body was perfect and restored. Answer was "typical routine". I had them come to my shop where the car was prior to signing up with them and they agreed that the body will only have to be reprepped for new paint do due body mods and color change. Thanks guys I saved myself easily 2 grand from what your saying.

Default Dipping costs

Sparky I went to muscle car restorations site I appreciate you locating a company here in WI. But after reading into it and adding the e coat process where takin about 8500.00 bucks saved. By reading the article it seems like if your going to have the judges criteria all the time this may be the way to go but for myself it will also be a driver. Thanks aqain for the link.
