Default 50th anniversary ZL1s, I have 2 coming!

I ordered two (2) 50th anniversary ZL1s that I am selling. I sold the purchase rights to 1 of them instantly, I have a second one available. I am selling the purchase rights to the engine for a $2000 deposit, to be put toward the purchase price of the engine. However, since GM has not released the retail price yet, we do not know how much they will be. So we are selling the enigne for $500 over retail, whatever that retail price is. And the $2000 deposit will go towards the engine price. We suspect the engine will be between $12k and $13K. If by chance the engine comes in at a stupid price, we will refund the deposit holder his complete deposit. We are not really to worried about it, if the buyer decides he does not want it, someone will probably pay more! I suspect these things will bring crazy money since the tooling will be retired forever after this run.

If interested, contact me direct at four zero seven 832 1752.

Here is the GM release information

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Chevrolet big block, GM Performance Parts has brought back a modern version of the ZL1 for your chance to relive muscle car history. The Anniversary Edition 427 starts with a retooled version of the ZL1 aluminum block using the exact same tooling that helped create this legend in 1969. The advantage of the aluminum block is that it offers the completed engine the weight of a small block with a whole lot more power.

With a full list of features, this modern ZL1 is one of the most exclusive big block crate engines ever offered by GM Performance Parts. Fittingly, only 427 will ever be produced, and then the ZL1 tooling will be retired forever. The 427 lucky owners of this commemorative monster can expect an estimated 480 horsepower and 490 lb-ft of torque.

The 427 copies of the Anniversary 427 go on sale in the first quarter of 2008 through GM dealers and authorized GM Performance Parts retailers. Each copy also comes with a complementing Anniversary Owners Kit that includes a certificate of authenticity, an engine plate with specifications, and other items.

Frank,
Thats a very generous and tempting offer.
I am not in the market right now but it will be interesting to see who snaps these beauties up.

There's a story on these engines in the new January issue of PHR.

Frank:

How did you get on the list for two of them?

What are the specs on the engine?

Any idea when this engine would officially be released? (i.e. When would full payment be needed?

Thanks,

Ty O'Neal

All the information I have is in the post I did. Decemer to early spring release date. I think Steve Rupp knows a lot more about the specs, but he may not be able to speak to that subject yet because the magazine article is not released yet.

All I had to hear was ZL1, only 427 made, tooling retired forever, and I could get 2 of them, for me to make a snap decision. If someone does not want the second one, I will put it in my living room and let it appreciate, LOL!

Whoever buys it will have to pay it of when I get, The call!
