Default problems getting parts from venders?

Don't know what to do next, I bought the Wilwood front brake kit Frank at Prodigy advertised on this site back in July. He said they were purchased for a customer that decided not to use them. they had been bolted up but never used and he had them at the shop. I paid for them along with a set of forgeline wheels on the 10th of July. Told Frank to send them out when he had a chance thinking i'd get them within the next month just before the wheels would arrive. Didn't worry to much but when I got the wheels and still didn't have the brakes I called Frank who told me he would get them sent out right away. Waited a couple of weeks and called again, this time Frank told me they nicked one of the rotors somehow and were waiting on a replacement so they could send them out. After this I e-mailed him on 09-19-07 and told him to ship them out or refund my money as I couldn't wait any longer. He responded on the 24th that he thought it had been taken care of but he would get them out ASAP. i told him that was ok. On 10-10-07 still no brakes, i emailed him and got no response. On 10-16-07 still nothing and I emailed for him to just send the refund, no response again. On 10-18-07 I emailed Lisa at GPsuperstore hoping to get a response. Within a half hour she responded and told me she would get with Frank to find out what was going on. She also told me Frank was busy getting ready for SEMA and probably hadn't checked his emails. I emailed her back explained that he had time to post pictures on this site and others of their car in progress and thought he would have the time to check his emails so he could take care of parts that were paid for over three months ago. I thought this should be his priority. On 10-20, she apoligized and said she would take care of this by Monday the 22nd. On the 22nd she emailed and told me the rotors were on back order from Wilwood until the 1st of Dec. They would either wait until they got them to ship them out or refund my money. I emailed them on the 22nd, 23rd 24th and the 25th asking what happened to the kit I ordered that they had in stock back in July with no response. I'm a little PO'd since they've had my money for so long and my car is sitting here waiting on the brakes. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this problem since this is my second time dealing with them and back ordered parts, people on vacation or people not working there anymore. What would you do now?

i think doing what you are doing now is about all you can do... i am also sure that you will get your stuff eventually.... i can totally relate to your frustrations, ive had a transmission shop in NY screw me out of 1500 dollars worth of parts that they simply didnt send and blamed the shipping company... but it is my clear impression that frank and lisa are good people, but what the real hold up is.. thats not always clear..

hope upy get your stuff soon...

they are at SEMA now, I'm heading in this a.m. I'll call Frank as soon as I get there and see if he can contact you.

They are good people.

Jeff, first of I will apologize for the debacle. I want to apoligize for not answering my personal e mail in October. However Lisa has been communicating with you. Jeff, you communicate with me through one of my personal e mails, not our business emails that Lisa helps me monitor. You can only imagine how much e mail I get when I post to the entire world my email address. I have not been checking that particular e mail as I do not do much business through that e mail account. I mostly chatter with buddies and trade jokes which I have not had time for. I apologize that it has not been me personally that you are communicating with, but Lisa is capable of handling this.

As Lisa explained, All 13" rotors are on back order until December.

Even though you bought a mock up set, When we could not get the rotors, Lisa tried to buy a complete new set of NEW brakes to fill your order. She even tried to buy them at RETAIL from the big mail orders to fill your order. There are no 13" red kits in the free world today. We have tried everywhere.

She has offered you your money back.

She has offered you your money back until the rotors come in and offered to ship the kit when we can get the rotors and then you can re pay AFTER they arrive.

I do not know what else we can do for you.

I could have sent them with the nicked rotor, but that is not our style.

Jeff, you also have my PERSONAL CELL NUMBER, and the entire industry knows how easy I am to reach. I am the most obtainable guy in the industry! When you could not reach me by my personal e mail you should have called my personal cell phone.

So for now Lisa refunded your money before we left for SEMA until the rotors show up, You should see it on your card next statement. Don't freak out if it is not posted on your card yet, CC companies like to take their time posting these refunds, When the rotors come in, the brake kit is yours if you want them. She also told you she was throwing some extra stuff in the box.
