Anyone ever run these tires? They have a 345/30R19 so I was thinking of using them on my car???

I run them on my '71 for track days. Once warmed up after a lap or two, they stick much better than my Eagle F1 street tires. Cold, though, they're quite slippery. I personally would not run them on the street because they'll always be running well below optimum temp and won't stick as well as a regular street tire.

Funny. We got our Pilot Sport PS2s from Michelin today, but no Cup tires yet, I was on the phone today with one of the main tech guys trying to find our when we will get our set for Project EmptyNest for Autocross. He is getting back with me to let me know when they can ship them.

They should be a fricken KILLER tire. They are a 105Y which will support a frieght train, and 80 treadwear so soft as hell.

He and I had a long talk about rim size relitive to tire size, affects on section width and performance. Like I said. Sounds like a killer tire.

Thanks guys that answers some questions.....The car would never see much street driving just shows and maybe an event like RHT3.

We used these tires on our 3G Vette project. The one big issue is getting enough heat into the tires. Even during the PHR testing we couldn't get the tires into the operating heat range. Temp is 160 and he best we could do was 140. Even at 140 they were awesome, but that was as hot as they got.
When cold or on cold roads, they will break loose at will, so be careful. Art spun the Vette out in the middle of a road, and Kyle almost took out his DSE shop sign because of cool tires. Just our experience.

What about the BFG R1 tire?

does it come in a wide 19" I will look them up.

no they dont come in 19's. I will probably go with a michelin PS2 or something

I never got them to 160 either, at least by the time I put the pyrometer in them in the pits after a session and cool down lap. 138 or so is the highest I've seen.

I've not run them in an autocross, but I can't see how you would get enough heat into them in a typical auto-x to make them effective. You'd be better off with a dedicated auto-x tire from Hoosier or similar.
