Default Recommended Upper Control Arms

On my car I still have the GM control arms and I am planning to upgrade to some aftermarket ones.

I have the Guldstrand mod and because of that I would like to know which controlarms works best together with the G-mod in regards to Camber and Caster. Now the car runs with 4 degree Caster but I would like to go for a couple of degrees more.

I know that different brands and models will give more Caster than others but I don't want to over do it.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks

Jan

During our testing of Global West, DSE, Hotchkis and Speedtech upper control arms, the GW had the most available caster built into them.

1- GW- 6 degrees of caster
2- DSE 4.5-5 degrees of caster
3- Speed Tech- 4.5 degree of caster
4- Hotchkis- 4-4.5 degrees of caster
Hope that helps some.

Naturally with out adj. tubular arms you can achieve most any caster setting you like. I`ve set them for as much as +12* caster, but that was for testing only. I don`t recomend driving around like that. I like them around +5.5*. Much more than that makes the steering response mushy IMO and brings no additional benefits to the party. I wouldn`t recomend our adj. arms with the G mod and std. height spindles with no geometry mods though, especially at near stock ride height. The G mod brings the arms closer to the frame in droop and you may lose some travel. Now, combine them with a tall upper ball joint (not too tall,we don`t want too much of a good thing) and lowered ride height and you`ve got some serious geometry and performance gains in addition to more + caster. The tall ball joints can also be used with other manufacturers arms with little or no modification (depending on the brand of arms) to get the same geometry gains they just weigh more and you won`t have as much adjustability.
