I know the bmw z4's came with electronic power steering in 2004, but it looks a little different than that. would be a cool system in a hotrod but $6,120

i wonder if they took that from the chevy malibus and cobalts. i hvent looked at too many of em at work, but it looks like it could be it

Here's one on a Can-Am car I saw last year. It looks a lot like a wiper motor!
The chassis is all black anodized aluminum, but the rivets are a different color.

I demo'd it at PRI last year. Worked great. They wired it thru a switch to show power assist vs manual. Great for packaging problems and saves a few HP. I never asked how much it cost, though.

my only question is how many turns lock to lock you got if your car dies or blow the engine.and how much power does it take to run.

i know at work we play with those quite a bit and you can play with the wheel with engine off for about 30min before u start to see the battery drain
