Hi Kevin,
The Nascar boys are in town this week for the Brickyard 400. You could always cruze by the Speedway if you've never been there before. If you have time - The museum is always open and you'll also be able to get into the track Friday. Recommend checking the museum if you have time - it's got some awesome displays and they change them every 30 days so it's always something new.
You should do a segment on this place some time. Tremendous automotive history here - plus the racing/driver part of the story. I'd be glad to do all the leg work for you guys - they have a fantastic press room here with access to all the speedways archives, photo's, video - etc. They even use to race wright brother type planes here back in the day - 1911 I think. (I have a panorama photo on my den wall of that race) I might be able to setup an interview with Donald Davidson the track historian or even the museum curator if that's something that might interest your audience. I'd be glad to help in any way needed.
Food - there is a local pizza place by the track that all the teams hang out at. It's called Union Jack's and they serve great Chicago style pizza plus - all the standard burgers and stuff. They also have a bunch of IMS memorabilia there.

70 intersects 465 there by the airport. Take 465 north (left) to 16th street/Crawfordsville Road (about 6 miles) and go East (right). First stop light turn north (left). First street on the right. Stay on 16th street going east for another 4 miles and you'll run right into the main gate at IMS.
If you know much about the history of this place - they were some of the first Lat-G car guys out there Bro ....
