Default PSCA True Street testing Friday night

The car is currently supercharged but will be making the swap to turbo this summer. BTW: It isn't an LS based engine.

To give you non so-cal guys an idea of how crappy the track prep at Fontana is this car went 8.4 @ 167 @ Pomona 2 weeks ago at the Super Chevy Show.

No kidding...we ran 8.60 in Real Street, which was #1 in eliminations in Fontana this weekend. At LVMS we ran 7.99 3-4 weeks ago...it looks like everyone is adding 0.50 to their usual times in our class.

We won with an 8.71 at 171 MPH, if you can believe that. It was an extremely slick track and with that 540 CI putting out 1,700 HP on the 2nd stage the tires were loose on the big end.

Congrats on the win! Was that in the right lane? It is hit or miss with Fontana. They were actually prepping the track which was nice.

I think I might have your run on video. I will try to get some of the videos up this week.

Thanks Jason, it was the right lane during qualifying, then the left lane in the finals [after they finally prepped the track Sunday morning]. Several drivers refused to run on Saturday afternoon because of track conditions, but Gil managed an 8.29 at 2:00 PM Saturday that sent the message to the rest of the cars/drivers in our class...LOL. We opted for higher rear gears at Fontana, but still feathered throttle on-off, on-off for the entire 1320...the guys that ran WOT were on the trailer early. I understand there were 5 wrecks, so it was fortunate that nobody got seriously hurt.

I have seen so many cars hit the wall there it's scary. They actually don't allow anything faster than 10.00 on regular street legal days. It is kind of an ongoing joke about Vipers being magnetized to the wall.

I'm sure the message board page at www.pscaracing.com will be littered with comments from angry racers about Fontana track conditions today.
