Default C4 suspension question

Hi all!

I´m thinking about using Corvette C4 axles in my old Mopar. But is there any OFFICIAL information about the bearing capacity of the axles? Or where/who to ask? Here in my country the law says the axles have to have same/better load capacity as the original. My car weighs about 3500 pounds, 4800 fully loaded. C4 weighs 3300 pounds, 3700 fully loaded. These numbers are frome the government database. So if there is no better info, the axle swap is illegal
In other countries this is not a problem but showing a magazine article is not official enough

I hope somebody can help me! Thanks!

Jouni

hey jouni.. i am going to take a wild guess that you are in finland, my suggestion would be to install a jaguar rear suspension it has the required load capacity, and its basically a dana 44 and close to bulletproof, it has inboard brakes and is real easy to fit, ive done it a few times and would be happy to assist you with any and all info..

Thanks deuce! But I happen to have C4 axles First I was just going to use the front axle, but then I tought why not go all the way..
If someone could also tell me what front axle to use instead of c4. Compact, rack&pinion etc.
Nice guessing

hmm, it would seem to me that the problem of load capacity with the rear suspension was greater as it will keep you from using your car if you cant register it... so look into selling the C4 stuff and installing either a jag or a link mount solid rear...

with regards to a front suspension you could install a mustang 2, or TCI custom front end... i have a TCI on my 32, works great but it has the turning radius of a steamboat... i also just happen have a mustang 2 laying arround lol

but the c4 stuff works great, except it is designed to work in a car with a lower center of gravity so you propably need more roll bar, and you still might have a load problem

what mopar are we talking about BTW???

I had some information today, that the swap might be possible. The difference is about 850 pounds/400kg.
But if I can´t go through my plan, I´ll stick with the solid axle in rear and figure out something for the front.
My car is -59 Dodge.
