Question Car transportation question

Do ya think $3295 is too much to transport a car from Anchorage Alaska to Pensacola Florida?

I am not sure I would do it for that. That is about as far apart as it gets!

I don't think thats out of line. What method of transportation will the shipper be using?

Definitely is not a route where there is a lot of competition. Makes it tough to price shop.

At just over $.72 a mile, it is a deal if they are going to haul it.

Ok, I just have to ask... what's up in Bill's area that you are looking at buying? The $3k premium for shipping is pretty hefty, so it must be a nice car.

That quote was Fed Ex custom critical Autotrans. Im in Bills area and Im being transfered to Eglin AFB in Florida and Im just trying to figure out the best way to get the roadrunner there. I can ship it on the military's dime but then I dont get the mileage money when I drive my other car. The other problem is that the military only ships port to port, and the closest shipping port for them is New Orleans. The roadrunners not quite that roadworthy (nothing in the dash works), and the seats really suck. I didnt think the price was that bad considering the distance, just wanted more opinions. The quote didnt specify the type of shipping, Id guess it was an open car carrier.

Just for comparison, I'd give Carlisle (276-7797), Tote (276-5868), and Wrightway auto carriers (277-4549) a call.

I used Wrightway when I originally brought my car up.

Good luck, Zak.
