Default Newbie needs suggestions/direction.

Hi, I'm new to this site and several others just recently but a veteran on several others. I'm in the very beginning of the planning stages of building myself a Ralley Green 69 Z28 RS. I want this car to look close to stock on the outside but be modern at heart. I'm not looking at a resto mod but rather a new 1969 Z28. I want to go CBB and am leaning towards an N/A 572 crate motor, automatic tranny, 12 bolt at the minimum for sure or 9" if I have to. PS, PDB, A/C, PWR Seats, PWR windows, PWR door locks, sound system, the whole 9 yards. Haven't researched the suspension and chasis components yet but I'll get there step by step. The attachment(hopefully) is my current track car, the Z28 is for the street. Point me in the right direction, thanks.

Welcome to the site! Do you have an LS-X motor in the Firebird, I'm guessin' that maybe the reason you'd want a crate big-block in your 69 (variety is always good)...but to go modern in the Z with some respectable power levels and driveablility may I suggest an LS motor...

The T/A is powered by an LSX variant, 408CID iron block stroker motor makes 500RWHP N/A and 750RWHP on the bottle. I want the 572 because they develop enough HP to keep me away from power adders, I want to keep it simple, lol.

I think you'd have no problem keeping it stock appearing yet have it perform at a 4th Gen level, be just as comfortable and fun to drive.

That's exactly what I'm planning on. Don't get me wrong my T/A is nice but I don't want to have to mess with the Z28 like I do the T/A, it gets to be a pain in the rear end after a while. I think the 572 will have more power than I really need for a street car and the Z will have the 60's/70's muscle car look, doesn't get any better than that.

You're right, simpler is better...them 572's aren't slouches either. With a little more perusing on this site you'll find the ways to get good front end grip with a big-block and the techniques to install the amount of tire underneath the rear for all of that Power!

Yeah I didn't want to mini-tub it but I may have to to get some wide rubber in the back.
