Default Title and Vin

So, I want to know if I will be ok with the car I purchased.

I purchased a car and the received the clear title for the car. When the car arrived I am looking over everything and I notice the the Vin number is a state issued vin number. The original vin was lost when they stripped the car for blasting.(they forgot to mention that part, I guess my fault for being exact in my questioning).

Anyway, my question is, will the car be ok with this type of Vin and title? I am not restoring to original as I am planning to buld a PT machine. So I had already planned on cutting it up, adding mini tubes, 4-link, smooth firewall..ect.

The way i see it, it is like I have a kit car vin and title, Am i correct in my assumption?

Thank you in advance
Matthew

Just wondering what car is it?? To answer your question as long as it has the vin plate matches the title you will be fine, well at least in IL.

Just curious on what car it is as I sold my 69 Camaro with this issue a couple of years ago and it just resold on eBay!!

Mr Rick

It is a 67 Camaro that I found some other website. I think I am ok but just to see if other people have had any issues.

Thanks again for the response.

It will certainly hurt the value in the end imho since it will always raise questions in peoples minds. In NC it would make it a royal p.i.t.a. to title and register.

It will definitely hurt the cars Value. Down the road, people will think it was built from a wreaked or Stolen car

Mine was like that, i didn't care so got it anyway. When I took the title to the DMV they threw it away and said I don't need one pre 1976. I love Alabama

I have rules I follow religiously when buying cars.

#1 must have a title
#2 must have original Vin tag
#3 hidden Vins must match title and Vin tag.

Without all 3 it's strictly a track car or a parts car and I value it accordingly.

The hit you will take on a finished car will likely be bigger than it will be now.
