Default BBC shaft-mounted rockers...knock-offs?

A little background:

These rockers were on the motor (496) when I bought it. They certainly look like Jesel. (The cam is a solid roller)

They survived 3 dyno pulls with no problems.
Put the motor in the car, everything was cool and it ran great.
A couple of hundred miles later things went south.

It didn’t happen with some high RPM blast, the failure occurred cruising around town at about 3000 RPM. The motor made some disturbing noises and I thought it dropped a valve to tell you the truth.
This is what I found:

Of course I thought it was a geometry problem and checked everything many times. It all looked good.
I showed it to a friend of mine for a second opinion. He said he had seen them break before, but they didn’t look right. He got me thinking they might not be Jesel pieces after all.

I ordered a complete set of Jesel SS rockers. When I saw them I noticed right away they appeared to be made from a denser alloy and were smoother on the outside.

I put the Jesels on and never looked back. No breakage.

So my question is has anybody seen knock-offs that look like these? I didn’t see anything online that looked like bootlegs.

Thanks

I searched the stamped # (2021) that's on the rocker stand and it comes back as a Jesel rocker stand.

I believe they're numbers on Jesels located on the bottom of the rocker with a (Jesel) code.

Accelerating is optional...........stopping is mandatory. Your car WILL stop one way or another.
