Default 67 Firebird-17" or 18" wheels

Need you guys' help here. I'm changing my 17" Torque Thrust 2 wheels out, and can't decide whether I should stay with 17" or upsize to 18" wheels. The car is mostly street driven, but I want to do some track days later down the road. Budget for wheels only is $2500.

Car has LS1 brakes front/rear currently, and if I step up to 18" wheels, I can put Z06 brakes from Kore3 up front.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I'd say it depends on the style of wheel you go with. For a modern looking wheel - like something from CCW, Forgeline, or any other similar company, I'd say 18". If you want to go with something a little more vintage looking, like a rally wheel or minilite, I'd say to go with a 17".

Personally I love wide old school looking 17s.

Clearly I'm biased since you mentioned running KORE3 brakes with 18's, however even if you weren't, I was going to say 18's. Better future tire selection and more room for future brake improvements should they be required/desired.

18" it is then. Now just have to decide which wheels/styles.

If you can squeeze a couple hundred more, you could be looking at Rushforth, Billet Specialties, and a few other good wheel brands

Yup. I'll just have to wait a bit longer and save up for a set of Rushforths. Buy once, cry once.

Mine showed up yesterday and I love them!! - they really are works of art, Jason was very easy to deal with and I feel like I got a great deal for a great set of wheels -- I can't wait to get them on my Camaro (once it stops snowing in NY)
