I'm just glad we live in a country where those who don't agree with what we are doing still appreciate the soldier who is ordered to do it. It wasn't always that way and there is a lot of people suffering from PTSD because of the way they were treated after coming home, namely from Vietnam. I've had the opportunity to train with a few different nations, mostly different countries from the UK, and there is quite a few places where people absolutely do not wear a uniform if they don't have to because of their military's reputation. I'm a quiet guy in person and keep to myself, people coming up to me and thanking me always makes me uncomfortable, but it's still great to know we have the support of our citizens.

Amen

I am lucky to have a group of friends from the previous generation who served this country. I always feel a sense of inferiority when I am with them because they are the reason for the freedoms I enjoy and I'm not always sure I'm living up to my end of the bargain when it comes to watching after them.

On Sunday I stopped by their annual celebration of the Marine Corps birthday. They cut a cake and handed the first piece to the youngest Marine, a young man I had never met I think his name was Mark, who then hands the cake to the oldest Marine, Glen a WWII and Korean war veteran.

I was introduced to matt by Glen and I said to him lets hope one day you are on the receiving end of the cake pass, that's the goal, he agreed.

Dale it was a pleasure meeting you this week and I hope one day your son can be the oldest soldier in a group. Our thoughts are with him.

Default Got to's into Get To's

Every day our service members turn our Got To's into Get To's.
Got to go to church today...no you Get to go to church today (the one of your choice)

Got to go to work today....No you Get to go to work today and get paid

Got to take the kids to school....No you Get To take them to school

There are so many Get To's that we see as Got To's.

Freedom is not free. Someone has "Got To" protect us so we Get To enjoy Freedom

Kudos to all past, present and future service members!

Thanks Skip... appreciate your thoughts and prayers for my son. It's tough for a parent.
