Default GM Performance LS3 430 hp w/ 4L70 trans package

Asking for a friend with a '69 Camaro project:

What are the pro's and cons of this package?

Part #19257230 price point is under $9K.

I beleive the 4L70 is a bigger case than the 60 and may cause tunnel issues. motor is great choice.

He's right, that is the larger case and could be really tight. Still, that's a whole bunch of awesome for a very reasonable price. A buddy is doing that same combo in a '69 C10. Tough to beat.

I installed and LS2 with a 4l70 and yes its tight, but it does fit w/o any mods to the tunnel. I am using a stock sub, sbc frame stands, stock motor mounts and s&p adapter plates.

We bought a Stage 4 4l70e from Gear Star and it is essentially the same case as the 4l60 we used for mock up. Just the trans mount location and overall length change slightly. Those differences are not just between the 60 and 70 they exist between generations of 60 and 65 as well. As far as tunnel clearance goes, I didn't see any differences. Good Luck!
