I am installing factory 1/4 panels, factory outer wheelhouses and DSE deep tubs on my 67 camaro. I want to make the car set as low as possible, I am thinking about shockwaves front and rear. Does any one have any experience with doing this. Should I modify the outer tubs ( square the tops off where they slope off towards the 1/4 ) so the car will come down lower. I am gonna use a 335/30/18 tire I think. Looking for opinions or pictures.
How low do you want it to sit? How tall of a rear tire are you going to run? You'll want to get the offset of the wheels setup for the car to go down if that's the goal? But tire height is the first thing you need to figure out, then you can setup a plan for making them fit in the car. Don't put in the tubs until you figure out tire size.
On a 67/8 it doesn't make as much sense to modify the outer wheelwell. Your biggest outside issues come into play at the 1/4 panel at the 10&2 o'clock positions- this is why the 69 models have a more stretched design.
Wheel fitment is huge- figure wheels out early, they're too pricey to do twice!

that is the only way to get a 67/8 to tuck unless you suck the wheel way in which is not an option without doing rear frame rails

Thanks for the response Mike. I figured someone with your experience would know the answer. I really want the car to set as low as possible when parked.
I'm guessing around 28" tall tires and the widest wheel and tire I can fit under it. At least that is my plan for the moment.

tucking a 28" tire and going low is a different animal. the 335/18 is just under 27" i think. either way it will take some work on a 67-68

Does anyone know the actual heighth of a 335 tire when mounted on a 12" rim . My goal is to get it set as low as possible, maybe not on the ground but down as low as possible.
