That's what happened to my Wife. She lived there for 2 years while attending the University of Honolulu. She says she awoke one morning and said, "I gotta get the hell off this island". She moved home several weeks later and hasn't been back since. Although she's been buggin' me to take her back out there. But I don't know about all that flying. Michigan to Hawaii.....that's like halfway around the world.

My brother-in-law was stationed at Hickam AFB when we went over, stayed there for free just had plane tickets and food and fun $$. He was there a couple years too and had the same problem.

Have fun enjoy!
If you have never been scuba diving before look into it
Hawaii has some nice dive sites..
Many resorts offer a discover scuba program that will allow you to dive with an instructor..
