This is used by a lot of drag racers and they really seem to like them.

in a race car or tin interior pro street car, yes. but any car with a decent interior?....no.

I prefer the b&m quicksilver. no additional reverse lockout lever makes it easy to use with a factory console if desired or mount it on the underside of the tunnel and put a boot on the lever. to operate, simply pick up on the lever and select any gear position between park and drive. makes it nice and simple for normal driving. but once in drive, you can ratchet to any position between neutral and 1st for race style shifting. it will not go into reverse in this mode.

Its a matter of personal prefference, and it could easily be modified to fit in a console etc with out looking like trash. I was just giving an option thats not the norm, and is not in every car out there and they are suppose to work outstanding. It is obviously not the easiest or best choice for everyone, just an option to make something different.

That is the one I run in my falcon. I like it alot. but no quick shifts into reverse, so make sure this is not going into your getaway car!

Default shifter

Consider the Lokar cable type. I had BM hammer shifter and it was poor at best. The 4L60 model will work on the 4L60E without problems.

I'm sure a lot of people on here have the B&M Megashifter, including me. They make one specifically for 3rd gen F bodies. I really like mine, not too bad to install, I did spend a lot of time getting it adjusted just right and stiffening the floor and the shifter itself to elliminate a lot of sideways flex. Overall, I'd recommend one.
