My budget build-70 Chevelle
I bought this car for 6k cdn 3-5 years ago. body was pretty good.
- interior i replaced with new carpet, new seat vinyl in back and front buckets from a cobalt ss. i also got rid of the column shift and put in a b&m black diamond rachet shifter and auto meter "cobalt" gauges.
- on the exterior i haven't done much except for learning the lesson of getting the right rims THE FIRST TIME! to date i have replaced the white vinyl top with a black one. the rims i have bought to date are 1 KMC, i forgot the model, they were chrome though, 18" all around 2. american racing Rogue rims, 20" rear, 18" front, i needed a 1.5" wheel adaptor in back for these. 3. Boss 338's 18" all around and they fit PERFECTLY!
- Motor is basically stock and a little tired, but not bad.
- i just added QA1 coilovers to the front and 2" BMR drop springs to the back, with hotchkis (bilstein) shocks, and i can't believe what a difference it made to the handling of a stock chevelle!!! i want to get the front a-arms replaced as well as the rear bits too.
PLUS! i have to tell ya. when i bought this car the last owner has a 1971 bumper on it. i have to say. i love the 71 rear bumper more than the 70. it matches the front of the car so much better and flows so much nicer. i have received tonnes of flack over this but so far the 71 bumper stays! who matches double rounds in the front with oblong rectangles in the back anyway?!!!
The last pic shown is not as nice as my other photos but the car looks sooooo much better. check the stance, the 285's in back. i'll get some even better shots done soon. stay tuned. should be in the next week or so.
i do a little bit every year, budget permitting.
i think next will be steering/brakes or motor, not sure yet. stay tuned.
this build will take awhile but it's sure awesome driving it in the meantime.
any canadians out there, feel free to contact me!

Good to see another Green w/ white stripe and a black vinyl top '70 Chevelle. I like the shot in the drive way best on the 18s.
I will disagree on the rear bumper, just never cared for the 4 rounds on the Chevelle to each their own.
