DSE Wiper wiring, wire 10ga and 30a fuse??
I know this is a simple question, but I'm curious why DSE supplied their wiper kit with a huge 10ga wire and a 30a fuse if it's only looking for 12v switched power? I don't have anything larger than 14ga readily available under the dash, and my fuse block only has 10 or 20a fuses for the aux outputs. There isn't anything that big under the hood either that is switched.
Am I missing something?
Also, does anyone know about the Power Accessory fuse in the Pontiacs? I have one with a fuse that looks like 30a, and from what I can deduct supplies power to the large 10ga orange wire under the dash that is used for power windows/seats/convert. top, etc. My car had none of those options, and that fuse is not live either constant or switched. There is a spade terminal next to it that says 'Bat'. If my car had power windows, would there be a wire direct from the battery to that terminal, thus supplying power through the fuse and out to the orange connector, relying on a relay for the switched 12v?

isn't the dse motor a muli-speed with delay? Usualy you need bigger wire for voltage drop and/or hig amperage draw upon initial start up. just like a motor in an air compressor for example, when it kicks on initially, there is a huge amount of inrush current present, which is why your breaker is usually oversized a bit.

It is multispeed. What does dse expect people to do? It's pretty obvious there isn't a 12v switched power source that big available. If it requires a relay it would help to state that much. The inx simply state connect to a switched 12v source.

If you have an open slot for a fuse, just insert a 30a fuse into that slot. Even though you've only have 10 or 20a fuses, u can switch the fuses arond to whatever size overcurrent protection you need

That will work. I have the original style glass fuses. The open 'accy' spade is run concurrent with the radio, which was 10a. So I'll just put a 30a fuse in that slot and use a spade connector to plug directly into the fuse panel.
I wasn't sure it was adequate, but I'll give it a shot. If it blows the fuse with the radio on, I'll just run a relay off the 'batt' side of my remote start solenoid and use a light gauge 12v switched source to trigger it.
