Default Gas Guage Wont Read.

put my narrowed tank in from dseand it only reads a quarter of a tank.whats my problem fellows?

You most likely need to give a bit more info, factory gauge? all you did was switch the tank? nothing else changed?

i have autometer guages.it was working fine.i minitubbed the car so i had to put in the narrowed tank and a dse sending unit.now my guage reads 1/4 of a tank when its full.

The new sender has to be the same resistance as the old one to read correctly. Sounds like it is not.

Float could be hitting the tank. You said it worked before and you narrowed the fuel tank ? and it does not work now. thats what you should check

I bet the float is sticking or hitting something making unable to get full travel. I have had this happen before with both DSE and stock tanks.

lol I have the same problem, just havent had time to drop the tank and see whats going on. If i get to it soon ill let you know what I found out.

I have same problem since I put in my Rick's tank. Ordered a VDO sender 0-90 ohm. Wonder if I got the wrong part by mistake.

ya the float in the tank probably wont go all the way up for whatever reason.. happens pretty often, usually you buy a car and find that out later though lol..
